We are honored that you have interest in the Black River School. Your child has only one childhood, and we hold deep reverence and respect for this very important developmental period. Our play based developmental approach holds at its foundation self-initiated movement through which your children will gain all the necessary sensory development that allows them to rest peacefully and happily in their bodies, be physically healthy as well as successful lifelong learners. Our program lays the foundation for healthy relationships by providing time and freedom for the children to know themselves. This self-knowledge supports children in developing the self-confidence to go out and meet the world. We believe giving young children time to develop a strong foundation physically, socially and emotionally is every child’s birthright.

Our school is best understood through experience, and so I encourage you to call or email to schedule a visit. I will be happy to meet with you to learn more about your child’s interests and learning style and to explore together whether Black River School might be the right environment. I look forward to hearing from you, and hope you won’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We welcome all of your feedback.

Thank you again for your interest in the Black River School!
